Margaret is the head buyer for a small but growing chain of department stores in Washington and Oregon. She uses the Universal Office as her personal communications system. She spends about half of her time at the office, and the other half in her car traveling from store to store in nearby cities.
"Personal communications for me has also been a challenge. I was relieved when I began using the Universal Office. I work in an area where there are patches of poor mobile phone connectivity and I would lose quite a bit of correspondence when out on the road. Now no matter if I'm on the road or at different store locations I'll always be found. Plus, if I'm not found or not available the Universal Office will handle my voice mail and page me immediately with the caller’s phone number letting me know there's a message waiting." says Margaret.

Margaret’s Universal Office system keeps her on top of things. Time is money, and Margaret knows it. She can't afford to miss that important call.
On a recent trip between stores, an important caller was trying to get in touch with Margaret while she was in her car. But Margaret was in one of those many ‘dead zones’ and her mobile phone would not ring through.
But Margaret knows better than to give her callers a mobile number that may or may not work. Instead, she gives them her Universal Office number, which she knows always works. When Genie, the Universal Office attendant, couldn't connect with Margaret’s mobile phone, she took a voice mail message instead.
Moments later, Margaret’s pager goes off. She looks at the phone number on her pager and knows it’s an urgent message notification from her Universal Office Genie. Knowing that her mobile phone is not reliable in that area, she pulls over to a pay phone and calls her Universal Office.
"Margaret, this is Steven. I need to hear from you right away about yesterday’s order. The production manager told me we can ship tomorrow but he needs a purchase order number right away. He needs to know before 5PM today to ship in the morning." She recognizes the voice of Steven Garcia, an important manufacturer’s representative.
After listening to the message, Margaret speed-dials Steven right back with out having to dial his number. She gives Steven the go ahead to ship the order in the morning and immediately calls her assistant with instructions to fax the purchase order to Steven.
Without having to hang up, Margaret then accesses one of her many Universal Office PhoneBooks, where she stores the Genie Numbers of the managers at each of the 32 stores. At the touch of a button, she sends them all a one minute message to let them know that the shipment will arrive within forty-eight hours.
"This was just one example of how the Universal Office helped me conduct time-sensitive business effectively. The ability of the Universal Office to handle my messages, notify me by pager when there are new messages, speed-dial callers back with ease and hold a phone book with my contacts numbers makes the Universal Office a valuable tool I could never live without. I don't know how I got by without the Universal Office in the past!" says Margaret.
